Silicones close the cuticles and help to hold moisture in, but they can also keep moisture out. You will often hear people talk about silicones being “chemicals” but in reality they are less harmful (less toxic) than many preservatives used in “natural” products. Natural products must be preserved. People often cite Vitamin E (tocopherol) as a natural preservative but that is partially incorrect. Vitamin E is an “anti-oxidant”. It helps to keep oils from going rancid. Vitamin E can’t preserve everything. Hence the “phenoxyethanols, dmdm hydantoins & parabens” in so many products. I’m not going to blab on about that right now though. Back to the point.

Think of silicones as what they are– liquid plastic. They are hydrophobic. Most of them repel water.
The downside to silicones is that there are so many kinds. And some require different types of harsh (sulfate) detergents to remove. Left on for long periods of time and especially when exposed to direct sun, silicones can make the hair dried out and crunchy feeling.
Products with silicones will help your hairstyles to last longer because again, they seal out moisture. Water is the “reset” button for our hair. So many of us run away from water because we don’t want to “mess up” our hairstyles. Unfortunately, this is the reason so many of us have dry, weakened hair, that breaks off and never seems to grow.
Many of you have asked me how to make your hairstyles last longer (in reference to my Corinne Bailey Rae inspired hairstyle) The style doesn’t last more than a day because I used “natural” products (shea butter & aloe vera gel) You must understand that most “natural” products do not have long holding properties. So consider using silicone products if you simply MUST keep your style longer. Again, they keep moisture out and keep your hair intact for longer periods.
Just be aware. I have no personal vendetta against products. LOL. I actually find people like that to be quite silly.
What you decide to put on your hair is a personal choice. You may not like the information that you are given because it is not convenient. However, styling adds wear and tear to the hair and shortens its lifespan. Ultimately, you have to make the decision about what is more important to you. Glamorous hair everyday, or less “showy” looks that protect the ends of your hair and allow it to grow and remain well preserved.
As I said in my other video, I see styling as a “treat”. I style my hair for special occasions or when I just want to look more glamorous for no special reason. But my hair doesn’t have to be showy all the time, which is why it is growing longer. I’m not constantly in it. Therefore I am increasing it’s lifespan.
The point I’m trying to make is, just be rational about all of this. Stop thinking that when it comes to your hair you can do whatever you want with it without consequence. Stop thinking that flat ironing your hair isn’t damaging just because it can revert back (sometimes). And no, I’m not an “anti-heat” miltant natural either. In fact, at some point, I’ll probably flat iron it just for something different. But I will do so KNOWING that heat is adding to the wear and tear of my hair. I will do so acknowledging that direct heat may be burning away layers of cuticle (come on that stuff isn’t made of steel. lol)
I am a common sense natural. I think you should wear your hair however you like and as often as you’d like. But don’t be delusional and willfully ignorant. Strive to understand what is going on and have an overall sense of balance. Have a goal. Use the information available to help yourself.
The goal should be mastery of your own hair.

I currently utilize funded proposal systems to help me to grow my network marketing business. There are five reasons why you should utilize funded proposal systems to build your network marketing programs.1. To generate an immediate gross retail profit on the front-end through the sale of a marketing system and/or an informational product which is related to network marketing.2. To utilize the sales of marketing systems and/or informational products which are related to network marketing as a pre-qualifier for your network marketing program. 3. Sift and sort through your prospects for you so that you only spend your valuable time with the best ones. 4. To gain further education from about how to utilize different types of internet marketing strategies in order to grow my business. 5. Pre-sell your prospects for you through educational marketing and continue the follow-up process with them. I will now go into further detail about each of the reasons listed above for utilizing funded proposal systems to grow your network marketing program.
1. Generate an immediate upfront retail profit, or, monetize your activity.
What I mean by “monetize” is you want your marketing and all your other business activities to pay for themselves. You don’t want to have to be dipping into your own personal reserves to fund your business. A good way to look at it is this: Monetization is the process of turning what are otherwise typical business expenses into sources of profit instead. Now, the main activity we need to talk about monetizing is prospecting. Can you imagine what it would be like if people actually PAID YOU to prospect them?
This is not an exaggeration or some kind of tricky play on words. It is 100% reality when you learn how to do this business right. Here’s the situation: The large majority of network marketers are taught to do things completely backwards by trying to market their business opportunity first. The reason this doesn’t work is because our business opportunities are really back-end products. Meaning, they should only be offered to people who are already our clients. Trying to sell them to people on the front-end creates two major problems that almost guarantee failure before you even get started:
A business opportunity is way too difficult to sell as an up-front product. Unless your conversion rates are very high, there usually isn’t enough initial profit from selling your opportunity to fund your business. You can’t make money fast enough to even survive (let alone grow). Okay, what do I mean business opportunities are too difficult to sell up-front? Well the reason back-end products are back-end products is because very frequently they require a bigger commitment and carry a higher price tag than the initial sale. Not always, but definitely in our case. Trying to sell them to someone immediately can be difficult even with the best marketing strategies, never mind poor ones. However, by making them back-end products they become much easier to sell (provided the initial product delivered). It’s kind of a catch-22, but it’s all because of the believability factor.
If you’ve got a satisfied customer who’s already bought from you, you’ve established trust and eliminated their skepticism. This model is how all passively profitable businesses are built. You get the customer in the door with an irresistible and inexpensive offer and then you offer them more products and services on the back-end. The biggest issue is that the large majority of people go broke trying to self-fund their business. The commissions they receive from the tiny organization they do manage to build can’t even come close to catching up with all their expenses. This is the #2 reason why a large percentage of network marketers end up quitting. They simply run out of money. You see, the truth of the matter is that the residual income from your organization is just one source of income for you. Or at least that’s the way it should be. And you should think of your business opportunity as just one of multiple products that you have to offer customers. A majority of people look at the checks from their primary network marketing company as their only revenue stream in MLM, but you really need other kinds as well. With the way this business is normally built (depending 100% on the long-term income). it’s not just challenging it’s almost a mathematical impossibility for the average distributor to build their business and turn a profit fast enough.
What many people fail to take into account is that just like any other type of business, running a network marketing program requires an ongoing marketing budget. You need to do mass marketing for your business in order to generate a large amount of leads. There are a lot of excellent free marketing strategies for generating traffic and leads, but there are many effective paid marketing strategies as well. Add on to that super-expensive company events, opportunity leads, training and self-development, monthly auto-ship requirements, personal use of products, and before you know it you can’t keep up with your monthly credit card bill anymore. It is simply a lack of cashflow. And your residual commissions are not able to provide you with the cashflow you need. And in all honesty, it could be that the commission checks from your downline may never be big enough to cover all the marketing you do. It’s entirely possible to spend $10,000+ per month on marketing for a decent size organization. This is why it is imperative that your marketing brings you an immediate return by selling your products an inexpensive marketing system and/or informational product which is related to network marketing.
2. To utilize the sales of marketing systems and/or informational products which are related to network marketing as a pre-qualifier for your network marketing program.
You use your funded proposal systems as pre-qualifiers for your network marketing program. What I mean by this is if a person is unwilling to invest at least a little bit of money on a marketing system and/or informational product which can teach them about building their network marketing program then you should decide that the prospect is not worth your time. If somebody is unwilling to spend a little bit of money on there network marketing education then they are not serious prospects. A person must learn first how to become successful in a network marketing program before they can actually become successful despite the belief by some network marketers that anybody can get into a MLM and make a lot of money quickly without getting the proper training.
3. Sift and sort through your prospects for you so that you only spend your valuable time with the best ones.
If we have to be constantly bringing in people ourselves this means we literally have to be prospecting thousands of people because all prospecting is is sifting and sorting. This whole process has to be automated. You have to have a system that does this preliminary sifting and sorting for you so that you only end up spending your time with the most qualified prospects possible. There may still be some sorting and qualifying to do with the people you do end up talking with, but it’s totally different. If your marketing system has done its job, you’re not qualifying them to find out who’s interested, you’re qualifying them to find out who will be your best potential business partners and who’s going to be worth you putting more time into.
4. To gain further education from about how to utilize different types of internet marketing strategies in order to grow my business.
Funded proposal systems whether it is a marketing system and/or an informational product is usually educating the person on how to utilize different internet marketing strategies whether it is free marketing strategies or paid marketing strategies. There are often new informational products which come out that gives new information to network marketers about marketing which was previously unknown to them.
5. Pre-sell your prospects for you through educational marketing and continue the follow-up process with them.
Okay, now think about this. The whole reason you and I do network marketing is to get leverage through other people right? We have to earn money off the efforts of others because we can only make so much with a linear income where everything depends solely on us. 1 percent of the efforts of 100 people is better than 100 percent of our own efforts, right? But let’s take it a step further. What about 10 percent of the efforts of 100 people? Or how about 20 percent? We’ve got to think bigger than the norm if we really want to make a lot of money. If you have have a system that allows you to sell to people in mass quantities there is no limit to how many people you can bring into your business. All celings are lifted.

10 Tips For Newbies to Begin a Successful MLM Business
Because of many opportunistic scamsters, MLM (Multi Level Marketing) is looked upon more as a scam than a legitimate business. MLM does not really mean scam. It’s quite a legitimate business if you choose the right company, and you can certainly create multiple streams of passive income if you do it right. If you do not have any experience in MLM and wish to consider it seriously, you have to do some research before you jump into it. I would recommend the following tips to start off:
1. Get acquainted with the ins and outs of MLM. Visit MLM discussion forums, read what others are saying, what is making them money, what is not converting, what is identified as a scam, etc. Read articles and ebooks on MLM, understand the concepts of downlines and matrix; basically get the hang of the MLM business.
2. Next, make a list of prospective MLM companies you wish to join based on your research, their market standing, their ability to fulfill your goals, their supporting your country, their compensation plan, their bonus revenue pool, your interest in their products, your ability to market their products, etc.
3. Now is the time to select your upline. Choose a good leader carefully, one who is willing to work with you and support you till you can manage yourself. Will he help you in following up and converting leads? Will he actually call up your pre-enrollees and leads? When you’re first starting out, it pays to have someone who can support and motivate you.
4. You have to understand that you need to leverage at least one or more of three things to succeed in network marketing – your own time, money (to generate leads) and resources (hard work). This business works best when you have a team that cumulatively possesses all three of these. This means that you need to look out for leaders that fill up the area you lack in.
5. Your business will take time to reach the goals you’ve setup. Remember, Rome wasn’t built in a day; and neither will your MLM business. Have patience and give it at least three to four years to reap real results. Start doing it part time along with your day job or whatever other business you have and gradually build it up. Pace yourself for the long haul, don’t stress yourself out by overworking in a frenzy and affecting your health.
6. Maintain your client list and use the services of an optin email solution where you can update them with new offers as and when you come across them. Marketing online is a great and cost effective way to do business, so you also need to learn about internet marketing and copy writing which you can use for making ads. 7. Its great to join new companies as you get in the ground floor and you increase the chances of building a greater downline. At the same time, its also a higher risk. Do some due diligence by asking folks in the trenches and also do some research on the internet. But since piling people is a race in this business, just signup and reserve your position before you do a detailed due diligence.
8. Always join companies that have some real rock solid products, keep away from the junk. This way, you don’t have to sell the sizzle (hype), just the steak. The key is to join the right program at the right time with the right people, continue to re-invest a part of your income in self improvement and other programs, and form co-ops with others.
9. Branding is a very important criteria in the MLM business. Maintain a habit of putting your name with every promotion you do. Once you’re known to promote only reputed and decent products, people will listen to you and also join every program that you promote. This is called “Branding Your Name And Breaking The Bank”!
10. Its 100 percent legal to form 2, 3 or more companies; signup from one company, put your second company below it, put your third company below the second, so on and so forth, depending upon the number of levels the MLM allows. Just ensure that you have separate tax IDs for each of them. This way, you just need to promote the bottom (last) account and you get paid on multiple levels! This is good if you plan to do business in a big way. While the initial cost of setting up companies is high, you can continue using them for each new MLM Company you join. Some MLM companies even offer you the opportunity to buy multiple positions when you first join them, which can even double your income.
